Catching Sand

Life, time and tasks slips through our hands like sand running through the gaps, however much you cup your hands or hold onto it grains of sand will slip out and fall. Its a never-ending flow of everyday tasks, feelings, decisions, challenges and life changing events. Sometimes the flow of sand increases to the point where it overflows and we lose track of all those grains.

One of the saving graces of life is having family, fiends and colleagues who support and help us. By meteorically cupping their hands around yours and catching sand the sand that is falling, we help them to hold onto all those particles of sand and make it easier to complete tasks and deal with everyday challenges as well as those big decisions.

So take a minute, and imagine all these grains of sand and what they are in your life. Children's pick up times, going out with friends on Thursday, work deadline at 12 noon on Wednesday and what to have for bloody dinner. Who helps you with those tasks, decisions and catches your sand grains and indeed who do you catch sand for? Could there be some changes made?

So the moral of the saying, ask for help when needed, recognise the sand grains and those of others and by sharing issues and problems as well as life tasks it will stop the sand overflowing completely and also overfilling others.

Reflect on those grain and think about how much sand is filling your hands.

Over and out, till next time

Helen :)
